Our Practice

Built gradually over five decades, Northwest Oral & Facial Surgery is dedicated to the highest quality of patient care. Our current team of four exceptionally trained, board-certified surgeons have worked together to provide compassionate care since 1999 and have over 80 combined years of surgical experience.

Northwest Oral & Facial SurgeonsOur patients range from adolescents to the elderly. We treat a wide range of conditions, including unrestorable, missing and impacted teeth, and soft tissue and boney pathology of the mouth and supporting skeletal structures. We specialize in placement of dental implants and the bone grafting necessary for their success. We excel in our ability to correct misalignment of the jaws such as overbites or under bites. We also perform biopsies, treat salivary gland problems, and repair fractures of the jaw and facial bones. Our board-certified surgeons graduated from accredited dental schools, are licensed in the state of Ohio and completed a four-year oral and maxillofacial surgery residency program approved by the American Dental Association’s Commission on Dental Accreditation. During their oral and maxillofacial surgery residencies, each received graduate training in other disciplines such as general surgery, plastic surgery, medicine, anesthesia and pathology. In addition, they are trained to treat patients in the hospital and outpatient surgery settings as well as their three state-of-the art offices.

Reaching Out

Our surgeons take their passion for helping others through dentistry into other areas of their lives. For example, Dr. Byron Henry and his wife Stacy formed the Free to Smile Foundation, a nonprofit group that organizes mission trips to third-world nations to provide free dental care and cleft lip palate surgery to the poor. Dr. Allen Carnes devotes a few days each month to providing free dental services to those in need at a clinic in inner-city Columbus.
